This beautiful Gibson Les Paul Standard bass was produced at Gibson's Nashville plant in 2001. It is long scale, with a nice vintage sunburst bound front, natural (unbound) back and sides (except around the neck joint area) and ebony fretboard with trapezoid neck marker inlays. A great looking and highly effective bass! Unlike many earler Les Paul basses, this model has a similar construction to the Les Paul Standard guitar, having a mahogany body with carved maple top, and set (glued in) mahogany neck.
The dark two colour vintage sunburst finish really contrasts the front binding beautifully. This is an exceptionally good looking bass!
The body back is made from a single piece of mahogany, naturally finished. Note the dark finished neck heel and sides in the cutaway.
Height adjustable TB plus ceramic humbuckers with cream surrounds and chrome covers.
The volume and tone controls of this bass are topped with gold 1950s style knobs - a perfect match for this burst finish.
Warwick bridge and tailpiece.
Three way pickup selector switch.
The mahogany back and neck have a natural finish, showing off the characteristic mahogany grain. The only colour to the bass' reverse is around the heel area.
The serial number is stamped at the top of the headstock reverse, above 'MADE IN U.S.A.'
Gibson Les Paul Standard bass headstock, with inlaid Gibson logo, and two-ply 'bell' truss rod cover.
This bass is fitted with Grover tuning keys. Note the tapered headstock shape.
