Gibson periodically printed detailed lists of parts for all of their instruments, to aid customers and dealers in purchasing correct replacement parts for their instruments. Two lists issued included the G-3 bass, 1977 and 1981.
1977
The 1977 parts list was the first to include the G-3. The tuning keys, bridge, electronics etc, were all listed separately; the pickups and circuitry are shown here. Note that the pickups have part numbers 13101 - 13103 representing the original clear-cover pickup.
1981
This list comes at a time when the Ripper/Grabber/G3 series was very much on the way out; a few more G3 basses did trickle out of both the Kalamazoo and finally Nashville plants, but by the time this sheet was printed, production was effectively over. The pickup part numbers are 13109-13111; these are the black covered pickups typical of later production G3 basses.
