I have a very rare all black Triumph. Pots dated July 1971 so I’m guessing made for the launch. I’ve read online that only six black Triumphs were ever produced.

Jimmy Johnson, bassist with James Taylor, played a Triumph prior to receiving his first Alembic. He recorded on some "C W McCall" tracks using the Triumph. Great bottom end, and sustain like no other.

Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads also played a Les Paul Triumph bass... I have live clips (Warning Signs etc) of her with a Triumph.

Jason is correct. This is Frank Infante playing the Les Paul Triumph bass. I know Frankie personally. It's not Gary Valentine. Also, I own a pretty rare White Les Paul Triumph Bass if you want I can send you an in-action photo.

The picture of Gary Valentine playing a Gibson Triumph bass, is actually a picture of Frank Infante playing a Gibson Triumph bass. Gary left after the first album and was replaced briefly by Frank, who soon switched to rhythm guitar and was in turn replaced on bass by Nigel Harrison.

That is indeed a Blondie bass player with a Gibson Les Paul Triumph, however it is not Gary Valentine, it is Frank Infante, who briefly played bass for Blondie, then switched to guitar (along with Chris Stein) later on.
