1980s Gotoh machines, Gibson part number 14102. As used on the Gibson Victory electric basses. The early 1980s Gotah tuners are somewhat similar to the the early 1970s Schaller M4-S; both have a clover-leaf button profile and have no mounting screws; rather, the ferrule screws onto the rest of the tuner from the front of the headstock. These keys, unlike the M4-S have the word Gibson on the base plate - sometimes above the gear, more often below. Gibson literature suggests these tuners were fitted to the Victory Standard, with Schaller (part 14110) keys fitted to the Artist. In reality either key could be fitted to either model, though in general 1981 basses were more likely to have Gotahs, 1982 basses, Schaller.
These tuning keys can be disassembled by removing two screws, the first, larger screw running through the larger cog and into the post itself, the second smaller screw on the edge of the button. Post hole size 17mm, post diameter 13mm.
