Gibson part number 14671 (bass side), 14672 (treble side), 82534 (set). The Schaller M4 was a widely used part from the late 1960s, and throughout the 1970s. Initially fitted to the reissued Gibson EB-1, SB300/400, Les Paul bass and Triumph models. It was also fitted to the occasional EB-3 and EB-2 around this time though not as regularly as the standard Kluson 538 machines. They were used again in the late 1970s; to early examples of the RD in 1977, and to the Grabber and G3 basses between 1978 and early 1980.
Gear covers are typically marked 'G' with Made in W Germany below up until early 1970, and 'GIBSON' thereafter - see pics below. 8mm diameter string post.
